Hello, 안녕! Nice to meet you, I'm Brian 'Hankyul' Song. I am an IT enthusiast born and raised in Los Angeles. I currently live in DTLA.

I am an entry-level IT professional with a strong foundation in system support, troubleshooting, and customer assistance. My passion for technology and problem-solving led me to pursue various hands-on roles and certifications, allowing me to grow my technical skills quickly. I’m originally from Los Angeles and have a deep love for the dynamic nature of the tech industry.

What

I love tinkering and creating! Even this website is hosted on a Raspberry Pi4 in my living room!

I specialize in operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), networking fundamentals, and scripting with Python, Bash, and SQL. From imaging workstations to resolving end-user challenges, I strive to bridge technical gaps and keep systems running smoothly.

Why

I've had a strong desire to support others through technology ever since my first experiences troubleshooting computers for friends and family. Technology evolves quickly, and I enjoy constantly learning and applying new solutions. I take pride in staying adaptable and helping users feel confident with their devices and applications.

Work

Most recently, I served as an IT Support Technician at Hailey & Co, providing technical support for e-commerce systems such as Magento, Shopify, and Amazon Business. I handled workstation imaging and configuration and trained new employees on troubleshooting procedures. Prior to that, I worked as an Insurance Coordinator at Sunnyvale Town Center Dental Group, where I also solved office hardware and software issues, improving overall system efficiency.

Earlier in my career, I contributed as a Web Developer at Simon Dominic Inc, building and maintaining SEO-optimized frontends using Tailwind CSS and JavaScript, and managing backend systems with Vue.js and Firebase. I also gained research experience at UC Santa Cruz as a Research Assistant, where I processed raw video data and developed a data extraction pipeline for structured analysis. I even spent time as a Statistics Tutor, preparing students for success in AP Statistics.

Through all these roles, I’ve honed skills in troubleshooting, data analysis, and customer support. I’m excited to continue expanding my IT expertise, whether it’s in helpdesk support, systems administration, or web application development.
